Spotlight On: Flea
At Soludos, there’s nothing we love more than discovering interesting people and places. Our endless summer travels have landed us in some really cool towns with great stops for fashion and food. So naturally, we had to find out more.
Today, the spotlight is on Flea, located in Rowayton, Connecticut. The small store combines vintage style and tasty food. If your mouth is watering, do not be alarmed. Ours was too! We were lucky enough to sit down and chat with the two owners, Laura & Laura, to get a little more insight behind one of our favorite little shops!
Q: Flea has a very unique concept. How did you come up with the idea to open a store like this?
A: We are both food and flea market obsessed. Laura Jayson had a thriving local wholesale baking business and wanted to open a retail outlet that was also a fun place to hang out. Laura Grabe was looking for a place to merchandise vintage finds and refurbished furniture. Putting the two together seemed like the perfect solution!
Q: What/who are you most inspired by?
A: Everything & everyone, 12 weeks of vacation, sugar & butter, the color blue, India & Mexico, spray paint, the sea.
