Tell us a little more about how LADYSLIDER came to be.

I decided to create my blog because I saw the divide between fashion and surfing coming together and the untapped market that blended the two together. Blogging isn't anything new anymore. Pretty much everyone and their dog has a blog now. But because of my background in fashion and being a surfer most of my life I felt like I had a unique perspective to offer.  Now it has become my main creative outlet and opened a lot of creative opportunity.

Can you share your favorite spots in Hawai'i and why they are special to you?

My favorite spots are all on the Big Island where I grew up. Whenever I have friends visiting the island I always take them to these three places: Waipi'o Valley, Mauna Kea, and Kalapana. These are the places I grew up frequenting and still go to every time I am home. They all have very different but beautiful, remote landscapes and so incredibly serene. I feel so at peace with myself every time I am in these particular places.

How do you unwind after a long day?

Get in the ocean. My day doesn't feel complete until I've touched the water. If I can't go in the ocean a hot shower will suffice. ;p

Who inspires you and why?

More recently, my Grandpa. I am learning more and more about the incredible life he lived and the people he touched. I like to call him a Renaissance Man. He did so many amazing things in his lifetime. I think it is hard to find people like that in my generation now. Not only was he selfless and deeply impacted the people around him but he also knew how to have fun and be a little selfish sometimes!

Best thing about living in Hawai'i:

The ocean, the weather, the people, the food.
